One fall, I bought a vine of fall leaves to use on our balcony. I wrapped the leaves around a post at the corner of the balcony. Over time, the wind blew them so much that they didn’t look very nice and I had to take them down. Luckily, while they were still there, a morning dove came and landed right in front of the leaves. What a great pose for the photo!

This photo was taken at an environmental conservation area near West Alton, Missouri. On this visit I was lucky enough to watch the heron while he caught the fish.
While I was out walking in Middlefork Savanna, near Lake Forest, IL, this Great Blue Heron was out for a stroll also!
The bald eagle just swooped down, caught the fish in it’s talons, and took off immediately. They are quick!
This beaver was out for a morning swim.
